I'm going to consider this a 'warm-up' post to getting my writing fingers back on. I've been out of practice as a regular blogger for several years now. I'm looking at this Ironworks UE Blog as a great opportunity to get back in the groove. Back in 2001, I set up my first blog at
www.egoinc.org. The evolution of the social web has had me expressing myself more on '
facey spaces and tweetie pages' than on my blog.
So, a quick introduction. My name is Corey Greeneltch, and I'm an Interactive Art Director in the Tysons Corner office of Ironworks. I'm a visual designer, you know, a PhotoShop jockey. In the eleven years since graduating with a Studio Art degree, I've worked in a variety of media. I currently specialize in web design, but I've designed for print, I've done a ton of work in Flash, I've done motion and sound design for video, I've created tradeshow booths, marketing campaigns and interactive CD-ROMs in Director. Who says ADD is a bad thing?
Outside of Ironworks, I try to stay pretty active in the DC design community. In addition to being a
RefreshDC regular, I'm the Publications chair on the
Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington board. I'm responsible for publishing weekly articles on the club's online magazine,
FullBleed. We're always on the lookout for great content from the creative community.
When I'm not working, I'm with my wife and boys (4 years and 2 years). Family time is pretty consuming, but when I can slip away for a few hours you can find me on two wheels, trying to launch myself into oblivion.
So thanks for reading about me, I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and information about design and working at Ironworks!
